Bruce Springsteen made a surprise appearance on lead guitar and occasional vocals during Alejandro Escovedo’s closing set at the 30th annual Austin Music Awards, at the Austin Music Hall last night, kicking off the rocker’s SXSW blitz a day early. Rolling Stone’s David Fricke was on hand, and says that Springsteen traded off leads and played some impressive “dirty-metal lead-guitar breaks.”

Human Agency is the Denver-based duo of Biorhythm (Ryan Kjos) & Dialogue (Seamus Moore). Emerging alongside the very recent surge of gifted Colorado based beat acts, they cultivate organically sampled production and rhythms, while infusing them with a chemical twist. Using dance styles and instrumental performances, they are formless in style and pool listeners from many sounds. Playing live shows with drummer extraordinaire Jonas Otto, Human Agency aims toward a collaborative stage effort to create a mixed media spectacle. The live performance is everything, and The Agency seeks to constantly evolve their own.
Human Agency has shared the stage with world class artists such as EMANCIPATOR, BONOBO, SHPONGLE, RJD2, THE NEW DEAL, LITTLE PEOPLE, & FUTURE ROCK

SONG OF THE WEEK: Saint Lou Lou - Maybe You
Saint Lou Lou is the hotly-tipped duo of two Swedish/Australian twin sisters, whose dad was a member of ’80s new-wave band The Church (you might know their most famous song “Under The Milky Way”). “Maybe You”, their first and only song released so far, is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve heard this year, so chill and restraint, yet shimmering with atmosphere and melancholy. I would describe the sound as The xx-meets-Jessie Ware. It makes perfect mood music for rainy nights. The accompanying music video is also absolutely gorgeous, with stunning slow-motion cinematography. This was my end-of-summer soundtrack, and I’ll hope you will like it, too. Enjoy!
